As World Allergy Day from 2005 G., is celebrated on July 8. The initiative is of the World Allergy Organization. Its purpose is to promote information about allergic diseases, paying special attention to the need for their prophylaxis and prevention.
An allergy is a state of intolerance and overreaction of the body to a certain substance/s. In its essence, it may not be harmful at all. Substances are called allergens, which cause allergic reactions. The variety of allergens is huge, because the number of substances, that can cause an allergy is unlimited. Among the most well-known are allergic reactions to insect stings or bites, drug allergies, foods, cosmetics, pollen, Pets, mold, mites (house dust mites) and other.
Allergies can be:
* Respiratory (respiratory) allergies. They have itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose. They are caused by pollen, Pets, home dust.
* Skin allergies – tic manifestations are skin itching and/or rash. They are obtained from insect stings and bites, cosmetic and medicinal products, cleaning preparations, etc.
* Eye allergies – are expressed in redness and watering of the eyes, inflammation and swelling of the eyelids. Their causes can be cosmetics, pollen, mites.
Allergic reactions vary in strength. They can range from mild, moderate to severe, which are associated with difficulty breathing, suffocation, lowering of blood pressure, slowing of the heart rate and other complications.
According to doctors, allergic diseases affect more and more patients. For the latter 25 allergy sufferers have increased over the years 3 times and the age range of patients has expanded significantly.
